McGrady said: “When we got Metta World Peace, we had a chance to win the championship, and my knee was injured. I have been striving for the championship for those years. That year I thought it was the best team in my career, but I suffered a lot.
“I’m depressed, I don’t know what to do, why this happened to me…… Many people don’t know that it was one of the darkest moments in my life.”
In the 2009 playoffs, the Rockets beat the Blazers 4-2 in the first round and lost the Lakers 3-4 in the second round.
