Pierce, an NBA celebrity, commented on this matter: “I don’t care how you evaluate Morant. I have also carried a gun since I was stabbed. You all don’t know what he went through, and everyone talks there until you really know what happened to other people’s lives. When you are black and rich, you will become the target of others.”
On September 25, 2000, Pierce was stabbed 11 times in the face, neck and back in a nightclub in Boston. Pierce also had to receive lung treatment.
